BYFA BOOK CLUB: AN ONLINE READING GROUP II Anthology Available
Ages 16-29
Winter 2024, Online

This online literature workshop, a continuation of the fall 2023 Book Club, is for student fellows who love to read, and for those who wish they read more.  For a few hours each week fellows will pause their scrolling and swiping to dig into a wide array of literary work by a diverse group of authors, including African, American, Asian, European, and Latino writers.  They’ll explore poetry, short fiction, and memoir, and participate in lively discussions, sharing their own interpretations and learning from each other’s discoveries.  They’ll also respond creatively and critically with written reflections, and with their own poems and stories, inspired by what they’ve read.  Portfolios of fellow writing will be shared at a public exhibition and on the program website.  Limited to 12 student fellows.

Jaki Hall has taught English at five Baltimore-area universities.  She has worked as a TV reporter, talk-show host, and producer; published magazines; and is co-author of her family history, We Are the Wards!
