STORY AND SCRIPT: AN ONLINE WRITERS GROUP
Ages 18-29
Summer 2020, Online

In this distance learning storytelling workshop student fellows will have the opportunity to write creatively for both page and screen.  Weekly writing prompts will emphasize close observation, and examples of published short fiction and produced films will offer insights into form.  Fellows will share their work through online platforms and in weekly group Zoom meetings, refining not only their writing, but their listening and analytical skills, learning to constructively critique and support each other’s work.  Fellows will also work one-on-one with instructors to identify and pursue their interests.  Fellows will each choose a focus, fiction or screenwriting, and complete the workshop with a polished short story or short screenplay for a film or web series episode.  Fellows should expect to spend at least four hours per week on this workshop, often working independently.   Their work will be shared through a virtual exhibition and on the program website.  Limited to 10 student fellows.
